Abstract

After India's independence, public enterprises developed rapidly. Transforming villages into important industrial towns, strengthening and developing the country's industrial infrastructure, providing new directions to economic development programs, and contributing to the nation's self-reliance were all undertaken at a rapid pace. According to the Public Enterprises Survey, "The creation of surpluses by industrial units and their use for production purposes is a vital component that plays a significant role in the economic and industrial development of any country or society."
